To A Fine Effect: George W. Morrison

Join us on Thursday January 30th from 5 PM – 7 PM in the Sally Newkirk Gallery as we unveil a collection of works from our archives celebrating an iconic artist from New Albany’s history: George W Morrison. With a career spanning nearly half a century, Morrison’s work provides a unique insight into our community’s past, chronicling the days when New Albany was the wealthiest and most populous city in Indiana, and painting for many members of New Albany’s pioneer generation. Enjoy light refreshments as you explore a selection of Morrison’s work curated by Museum Educator Albertus Gorman, including his master work and most famous piece, “View of New Albany”!

To a Fine Effect will be on display January 30th – August 16th. Admission is free for all ages, and no registration is required. Feel free to explore our archives here: https://floydlibrary.catalogaccess.com
